Sam, It will contain the family but it will also reinstall a character file for everysim that family knows. But they aren't playable characters. So if you reinstall lets say the Smiths and the Thompsons. If both those family know the Rogers then you will also install two sets of Roger family character files that aren't playable. I have manually used SimPE to find out which files are non-playable character and then deleted their files. This would be the route:C:\Documents and Settings\My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Neighborhoods\N002\Characters. In my Strangetown there are 444 character files I packaged Cassandra and I actually packaged Red too. Big bad mistake but at least these neighborhoods are for stories only. I have windows XP and actually have 3 profiles and each has a separate game of Sims. To save my favorite neighborhoods and characters I use SimPE to clone them and then package them using BodyShop. (I have over 30 package files of favorite characters so I never lose them.) I have also just made a copy of the whole neighborhood file. I do not recommend packing families. It will corrupt sooner with all those useless character files. You can also kick the families out and package the houses separately. I hope I have been helpful. \:wub\: erin
